Japanese Coasters made with Origami Paper

We've been busy making Japanese themed coasters using some of the beautiful origami paper that we sell on our webshop.  The coasters are available to purchase on our Orinique Etsy shop.

How big are the coasters?
- each coaster is approximately 10cm / 4" square

Are the coasters heatproof?
- we have coated the paper with several layers of varnish to make them heat resistant. They have been tested for use with cups containing tea and coffee. They are not designed for use with hotter items.

Are the coasters waterproof?
- the varnish protects the paper against damage caused by tea/coffee spillage. They can be wiped with a damp cloth. However, the coasters should not be submerged in water or washed in a dishwasher.

What type of varnish do you use?
- the coating we use is a low odour, water-based varnish designed for use about the house (including on table tops).
